Canon DC Coupler DC-E1

The Canon DC Coupler DC-E1 is a “dummy battery” accessory used to bypass standard battery usage, allowing specific professional and early digital SLR cameras to connect directly to mains electricity.

Compatibility:

The DC-E1 is primarily built for early high-end, professional Canon EOS bodies (such as the EOS-1D, 1Ds, and 1D Mark II series) and is usually packaged as part of the DCK-E1 DC Coupler Kit.

The Canon DC Coupler DC-E1 replaces the Canon NP-E3 Rechargeable Ni-MH Battery Pack.

Function:

It slots perfectly into the camera’s battery compartment, replacing the physical battery while maintaining the exact form factor and contact points.

Uninterrupted Power:

It attaches via a cable to a compatible external power supply (such as the Canon PA-V16 or AC-E1), delivering a constant stream of power.

Use Case:

It is designed for studio environments, time-lapse photography, long video shoots, or extended tethering, where constant power is required without the risk of battery failure.
