The Minolta 55mm screw-on lens hood is a dedicated circular shade designed specifically for the MD and MC 28mm f/2, f/2.8, and f/3.5 wide-angle lenses. It prevents stray light from hitting the front element, reducing lens flare and ghosting while adding physical protection
