The Fuji focusing screen for the Fuji GX617 panoramic camera is an optional ground-glass accessory that mounts to the back of the camera body for critical focus and precise composition.
Purpose and Function
Precise Framing: While the GX617 uses an external optical top-mounted viewfinder for standard action shooting, the dedicated ground-glass screen allows you to see the exact image hitting the film plane.
Specialized Uses: It helps with rigorous architectural shots, tricky foreground elements, or planned vertical pans.
Critical Focus: It lets you check fine details and depth of field visually through the lens before taking a shot.
Usage Rules
Pre-Load Only: You must attach the focusing screen to the open camera back before loading roll film.
No Mid-Roll Access: You cannot mount or use the screen once a roll of 120 or 220 film is loaded inside the camera body.
Removal: You remove the screen and close the film door before loading your film and shooting.
The focusing screen is in excellent used cosmetic condition, please see photos provided.
