Atomos Ninja Blade HDMI HD Recorder/HD Monitor/Deck

The ATOMOS Ninja Blade is an on-camera, 5-inch field monitor, 10-bit HDMI recorder, and digital deck. It bypasses camera compression to capture pristine uncompressed footage directly to inexpensive 2.5″ SSDs or HDDs. It features a calibrated IPS touchscreen with professional scopes and playback tools.

Core Functionality

Sensor-to-Disk Recording: Bypasses internal compression limitations to capture 10-bit, 4:2:2 video up to 1080/30p or 60i. It eliminates the 29:59-minute recording limits found on many consumer and DSLR cameras.

Encoding: Records directly into edit-ready formats, specifically Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD.

Storage Media: Uses standard, readily available 2.5″ HDDs and SSDs housed in Atomos Master Caddies for easy insertion and docking.

Monitoring Capabilities

Display: Boasts a 5-inch SuperAtom IPS capacitive touchscreen (1280×720 resolution, 325 PPI) with a 179-degree viewing angle.

Color Accuracy: Factory-calibrated to the SMPTE Rec. 709 color space.Scopes & Assist Tools:

Equipped with a built-in waveform monitor, RGB parade, vectorscope, focus peaking, zebra, false color, and blue-only monitoring.
