The Canon A-1 Program SLR 35mm film camera is an electronically controlled, microprocessor-driven 35mm film camera introduced in 1978. It is a flagship model in Canon’s “A” series, notable for being the first SLR with a fully automatic “Program” mode, and it also includes Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and Manual exposure modes. Key features include a center-weighted TTL metering system, a viewfinder with a red LED digital display for exposure information, a built-in hot shoe, a self-timer, and compatibility with the Canon FD lens mount.
