Austro-Hungarian armed forces during or around World War I.
- H.W.B. stands for “Heeres-Waffenmeisterei-Binocular.” In German, this translates to “Army Armory Binocular” or “Army Ordnance Binocular”.
- It signifies that the binoculars were part of a contract for military purposes.
- The mark would have been added to the binoculars by the armory to indicate they had been issued to the military and belonged to the state.
