The Gitzo G1548 is a robust 4-section Systematic tripod from the Series 5 Mountaineer line, designed for heavy-duty, professional use with large format cameras and long lenses (up to 600mm). Built from carbon fiber, it offers immense stability with a maximum load capacity of approximately 15kg while remaining relatively lightweight for its size.
Systematic Design: As a Systematic tripod, it features a flat top plate, providing superior stability for heavy equipment, though a geared or rapid center column can be added as an accessory.
The Gitzo G1518 MK2 (often associated with the G1548 tripod) is a carbon fiber rapid center column designed for Gitzo Systematic Series 5 tripods. It adds significant height to the 4-section tripod, enabling it to reach higher, though it reduces the maximum load capacity compared to using the flat top plate. It is designed for large, heavy equipment, providing stability to Gitzo’s largest carbon fiber series
