Optical Design: The 38mm Biogon layout provides a 90-degree angle of view, equivalent to a 21mm lens in 35mm full-frame format.

Distortion-Free: It is renowned for exceptional rectilinear sharpness, keeping straight lines straight without wide-angle bending.

No Mirror Box: Because the SWC is not an SLR, the rear element sits very close to the film plane, allowing this symmetrical wide-angle design to function without mirror clearance issues.

Shutter: It uses a leaf shutter built directly into the lens, offering speeds from 1 second up to 1/500th of a second with flash sync at all speeds.

Focusing: Focus is set manually using the distance scale on the lens barrel, often relying on zone or hyperfocal focusing for speed.
