This is a collector’s/antique lens and is being sold in its present condition.
Brass and metal construction with attractive aged patina.
The original iris diaphragm is not present.
There is a visible historic repair/weld/brazed joint around the lens barrel, clearly shown in the photographs.
There is dust/dirt visible within the rear optical group.
The optical condition should therefore be considered as found and not optically perfect.
I have not dismantled the rear optical group or attempted to clean the internal contamination.
A NOTE FOR COLLECTORS.
The Atelier-Schnellarbeiter 310mm f/3 is an unusual and desirable piece of early photographic history. The 310mm was the No.4 in the range, alongside 180mm, 210mm, 270mm, 360mm and 400mm versions.
This particular example is not a completely original, untouched example, and the missing iris and historic barrel repair are reflected in the asking price.
A great opportunity for a collector of early German lenses, historical photography, Petzval-type portrait lenses or someone interested in restoration.
