Design: Features a collapsible, fan-shaped metal reflector that folds open radially like a hand fan and closes compactly when not in use.
Build: Constructed with a metal and/or bakelite/plastic handle/battery casing stamped with the iconic “Ernst Leitz Wetzlar, Germany” logo.
Power: Requires a specialized vintage 22.5-volt battery housed inside the handle unit.
Compatibility: Designed to attach to vintage Leica rangefinder or SLR bodies via a cold shoe mount or specialized bracket, paired with a dedicated flash synchronization cable (often a coiled black cord with dual-pin or specialized terminal plugs).
Operation: Built for vintage flashbulbs rather than electronic Xenon flashes, igniting a single-use bulb when triggered by the camera shutter.
