The Nikon EL2 (1977–1978) is a durable 35mm, AI-compatible (Automatic Indexing) SLR camera, acting as a bridge between the earlier Nikkormat ELW and the compact Nikon FE. It features an electronically controlled, vertical-travel Copal Square shutter (8s to 1/1000s + B), aperture-priority auto-exposure, and a Silicon Blue Cell (SBC) meter.
