The Sigma sd Quattro is a distinct, rangefinder-style mirrorless camera designed for landscape and studio photographers. It utilizes a unique Foveon X3 sensor, which mimics the light-capturing properties of color film to deliver incredible micro-detail, dynamic range, and color depth without a traditional color filter array.

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM Art is a premium, large-aperture standard prime lens designed for APS-C crop-sensor DSLRs. It provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of roughly 45mm, mimicking the natural perspective of human vision, making it an incredibly versatile, high-quality “walk-around” lens.

Sensor & Resolution:

Features an APS-C Foveon X3 Quattro CMOS sensor that captures 29.5 megapixels. Because of its layered design, it is often compared in resolution to 39MP or higher Bayer-pattern sensors.

Lens Mount: Equipped with the Sigma SA mount, allowing compatibility with all Sigma Global Vision lenses (Contemporary, Art, and Sports lines).

Autofocus: Uses a hybrid AF system blending phase-detection and contrast-detection.

Body Design: Built from a rugged, dust and splash-proof magnesium alloy with an asymmetrical grip and a unique layout that separates camera settings across multiple displays.

Viewfinder & Screens: Includes a built-in 2.3-megapixel electronic viewfinder (EVF) on the left side, alongside a dual-monitor system. The main 3-inch 1.62m-dot LCD works alongside a sub-screen that mimics a DSLR’s top-panel info display.

Key Features:

Features a Super-Fine Detail (SFD) mode that merges seven exposures into one RAW file, and an easily user-removable IR-cut filter for creative infrared photography. Note that it does not shoot video.
