Lens Description: Sculptor 4cm f/5.6

The primary lens fitted to the Elettra II is the Sculptor 4cm (40mm) f/5.6.

Type: Fixed, non-interchangeable lens.

Focal Length: 4cm or 40mm, providing a slightly wider view than a standard 50mm lens, making it useful for street photography.

Maximum Aperture: f/5.6.Minimum Aperture: f/22.

Optical Characteristic: Simple construction, often praised by users for its sharpness and clarity, though not considered a “fast” lens for its era.

Focusing: The lens assembly typically has a narrow focusing range, with a short turn on the helicoid thread.

Camera Features

Shutter: A simple 3-blade sector shutter providing speeds from 1/25 to 1/200 of a second, plus Bulb (B). Note: Early models of the Elettra I used ‘T’ (Time) instead of ‘B’.

Body: All-metal, usually covered in black leather, with a chrome top and bottom in the Model II.

Viewfinder: Simple, small Galilean-type viewfinder.

Film Loading: Leica-style bottom-loading, requiring the baseplate to be removed.

The Elettra II is considered a collector’s item today, with relatively low production numbers estimated between 5,000 and 10,000 units before the company folded.
