The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-R1 is a groundbreaking “bridge” digital camera. It is celebrated as the first non-DSLR, fixed-lens camera to feature a large APS-C size CMOS sensor, and is often considered a spiritual predecessor to modern mirrorless cameras.

Sensor: 10.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor (21.5 x 14.4 mm). This sensor was over 12 times larger than typical bridge cameras of its era, delivering excellent dynamic range and low-noise performance.

Image Formats: Capable of shooting in JPEG and Sony’s raw (SR2) format.

Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T*: Non-removable zoom lens with a 5x optical zoom.
