Yashica YEM35 Shoe Mounted Light Exposure Meter

The Yashica YEM35 is a clip-on, shoe-mounted light meter for vintage cameras, not a camera itself. It uses a CdS sensor to measure light and a needle that locks in place to show the reading, allowing the user to turn the meter towards themselves to adjust the camera settings without losing the reading

It be used with a variety of vintage cameras, including the Yashica Pentamatic 35, that lack a built-in meter. Its compatibility is primarily with cameras that have an accessory shoe on top of the body. The YEM 35 is not mechanically coupled to the camera, so the user must manually set the camera’s aperture and shutter speed based on the meter’s readings.
