The Rodenstock Rodagon 50mm f/4 is a premium, 6-element enlarging lens primarily designed for darkroom printing of 35mm film. Renowned for its optical excellence, it delivers high resolution and edge-to-edge contrast. Today, it is also highly sought after by macro photographers for mounting onto digital cameras.

Darkroom Enlarger Compatibility

Standard Mount: Features a universal M39 × 1/26″ (Leica thread) mount.Hardware Fit: Fits directly onto standard M39 lens boards used by enlarger brands like Beseler, Omega, Durst, and LPL.Negative Format: Optimized exclusively for 35mm film (or smaller formats like 16mm). It will vignette if used for medium format film.

Digital Camera Compatibility (Macro Use)This lens can be adapted to virtually any mirrorless or DSLR camera body. However, because it is an enlarging lens, it has a flat rear element and no internal focus ring. To focus, you must mount it to one of two systems:
